Kendall Wright and Zach Brown narrowly beat out Taylor Thompson and Mike Martin.

Is it? I find that it's usually the top-drafted quarterback.

    2006 Vince Young
    2007 Adrian Peterson
    2008 Matt Ryan
    2009 Percy Harvin
    2010 Sam Bradford
    2011 Cam Newton

Was anyone expecting Young to win it? He wasn't even supposed to play that season.

Matt Ryan had no business winning it over Chris Johnson in 2008

I'm a CJ homer, but the Falcons went from 4-12 to 11-5 when Matty Ice took over. In a quarterback league, that is going to win over a running back every time.

It wasn't because Ryan was playing lights out. He had a good season but CJ was an impact player EVERY game he played that year.
