I feel like we eliminated the Spurs and took OKC to 7 without him. I love the guy but he has never been great. Just good.
So in a hypothetical world, what are you looking for in return? I'm assuming a starting-level SF and cap relief? Maybe some picks as well?
Somebody that can score mid and outside. 20 points a game. and dear god trade him to somebody in the east so we are not looking at him come playoff time. A pick is needed also.
Overrated and not a max player. He can play obviously, but if your team is built around him, you ain't going anywhere. And he commands a lot of money to be a role player. 18 points on 17 shots isn't impressive, just sayin'.
Just thought you Griz fans should know that OJ Mayo is getting you the same production as Rudy Gay for a third of the price.
Big OJ fan, was praying by Bulls would sign him.. we opted for Kirk Hinrich instead. Anywho, I'd love to trade Deng & 1st for Gay. Doubt it happens. Dengs deal is 3mil less, and expires a year before Gays. Would save the Griz ~22 mil. Give you guy an elite defender, and can still score 15-18 a game consistently. The defense of Deng-Randolph-Gasol is scary with that height... however, you still don't have a true scorer (need a 2 guard). I doubt that would EVER happen, but I love a Rose-Gay-Noah trio.
OJ Mayo to Chicago made too much sense that it didn't happen. Rose is out and they needed someone that can create their own shot.
I firmly believe if D'Rose WAS healthy, we would of signed OJ. D'Rose return was unknown and unlikely to return this year (now it'll be way late in the season). We need a PG to start for him, and we lost CJ so we needed a backup. However, we didn't anticipate Nate Robinson to play like this, nor Teague in limited playing time. If Rose was healthy, OJ would of came here. I doubt he wanted to be on a crappy team for a year, since he signed a 2 year (player option) deal to try and boost his market value.
