    Just like "no equipment" means no equipment, not "no equipment of the scuba gear kind". You're infering that "no equipment" means no scuba gear, yet you're not allowed to infer that under water means being submerged in the water? It doesn't hold water (to stay in the aquatic terminology).

    You can never overtake the last person because no position can be behind the last person, yet you need to be behind him to overtake.

    Unless of course you opt for the Gunny-logic answer and assume that they're talking about a race with laps in which case the answer is anything but last place.

    It is like asking the question:

    If it takes 5 men an hour to dig one hole how long does it take one man to dig half a hole?

    2½ hours, which of course isn't true, it takes much longer than that to dig a hole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hobbit-hole) ;)

    But how do you dig half a hole? Once you start digging a whole it is already a hole. :))
