Jones Agrees to Terms, Fisher Released
Staff Report
July 23rd, 2008

lg_jjones.jpg
The Titans have reached an agreement with second-round draft pick Jason Jones on a four-year deal today. Jones was the 54th overall selection in the draft after starting 36 games for Eastern Michigan. His four year deal includes $1.505 in guaranteed money and rookie minimum salaries of $295,000 in 2008, $360,000 (in ’09), $440,000 (in 2010) and $550,000 (in 2011). The Titans have also released Bryce Fisher to make room for their draft picks. The Titans traded a sixth-round draft pick to Seattle for Fisher last September. The Titans also waived LB Jerrell Freeman, WR Jason Rivers, DT Eric Taylor and QB Paul Thompson.

Titans Agree with Third-Round Pick TE Stevens
Staff Report
July 22nd, 2008

sm_stevens_2.jpg
The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a multi-year contract with TE Craig Stevens. The Titans selected Stevens with their third-round selection (85th overall) out of the University of California. He played in 50 games with 33 starts in four seasons, one game shy of the school record. He had 17 receptions for 204 yards and a career-high three touchdowns last season. The Titans have now agreed to terms with five of their seven draft choices, only RB Chris Johnson and DL Jason Jones remain unsigned. The team opens training camp on Friday, July 25th.

Questions for Titans Success in '08 Goes Beyond Young and Haynesworth
Jeff Fuqua
July 21st, 2008

sm_young_8.jpg
As training camp opens Friday, we've seen a number of articles on the key questions facing the '08 Tennessee Titans they will have to answer positively if they want to take their game to the next level. I'll quickly agree with the two I've read the most with the first being "Can Vince Young take his game to the next level?". The attention given to Young's development in both his mechanics and reads will likely stay in the spotlight throughout the upcoming season and is the top question facing the Titans offense.

Titans Reach Agreement with Hayes
Staff Report
July 21st, 2008

sm_hayes_2.jpg
As training camp fast approaches, the Titans have reached a contract agreement with DE Williams Hayes. Hayes, the first of three Titans fourth round selections (103rd overall), started 22 of 30 games at Winston-Salem State and recorded 150 tackles (80 solo) with 15 sacks, 37 stops for losses and 15 quarterback pressures. As a senior in 2007, he led the nation with seven forced fumbles and tied for 10th nationally with a team-high 19 stops for losses. The Titans now have agreed to terms with four of their seven draft choices. The team opens training camp on July 25th.
