Oliver is a nice CB but I don't think they will spend a 3rd (and a 5th) to move up in round 2 to get a CB.

And while Norwell is just about every OL-needy teams #1 target in free agency, you have to wonder if the Panthers will franchise him and work out a long term deal.

I like Vea a LOT and Hall. I need to watch more tape on Scales and Warner.

Some good picks! I don't see us drafting a rookie backup QB when we need starters at other positions. And as I suggested before, we probably can't afford the luxury of drafting a QB early or in the middle because Mariota's gonna need all the reps....so how do we develop a rookie QB behind Marcus when he's going into a new offense and they will rebuild his mechanics from the ground up. When would the rookie get his reps?

By all means draft one late, but that'll be a true developmental guy you hope can be groomed into a backup by year 4. In the meanwhile, we need a vet who won't need a lot of reps and preferably already knows the offense.

Vea should be a no-brainer @ #25. The draft analysis says he's comparable to Haloti Ngata, but better.

Ngata has been a beast for years with the Ravens, and is getting older, but still producing with the Lions.

At 330 lbs, and strong and quick, if Vea produces even 80 percent of what Ngata has done, we are set on the middle of our D-Line for years.

His combine numbers will be telling. Sometimes those big guys dominate in college because they are monstrous in size compared to everyone else. So he'll be a guy who 'rises' or falls based on his combine.

You know, I almost let you guys talk me out of my interest in Lamar Jackson but after thinking about it ... yep, I’d take him in the second if he were to fall that far. He has talent and 2nd team gets reps too. I think he could be really special.

Drafting rookie backups is the “patriot’s way” everybody covets. It certainly could work.
