you reading librul books now?!
The year is 2070, and the United Republic of America, an authoritarian conservative regime constructed after the second revolution, has built its first starship: the URSS Alabama. The welcoming celebration for Captain Robert E. Lee takes a sudden turn when Lee initiates his plan to steal the Alabama.
that government failed and was replaced by socialists... who spent the government into the ground. Everyone except the political elite broke as F... Western Hemisphere Union currently running the sh1tshow in like 2300 or so
you should read Coyote... excellent read.
I try to rotate between SciFi & history
you reading fiction political books? extremely strange genre choice
that is just the background...
actual story about the colonization of another planet
and by the way the ultimate fate of the Alabama was excellent.
heyyyy the writer is from Nashville
yes... and major villain was from McMinnville
Allen Steele spent lots of time in Northeast... yankeeland. Anyway alpha predator on Coyote is a flightless bird that are called 'boids'
I Emailed Steel one third shift at like 0400 and asked if he called them 'boids' cause that is how NYC yankees pronounce 'birds'
amazingly he Emailed me back like 15 mins later and said not no but Hell No... LOL
so I printed out my Email to Steele & his reply cause it amused me so much. stuck it in the Coyote book...
here is a summary:
me to Steele
the name 'boid' has nothing at all to do with robots or space or anything like that. You were Yankeefied while you lived up north. 'Boid' is yankee for bird. It is a most excellent play on words
Steele to me
was not a result of living outside the south but rather a more universal set of culutural influences.
the way people referred to Tweety in Loony Tunes and also the Three Stooges sometimes called birds 'boids'
as an aside he said he grew up in Oak Hill and hung out in Green Hills
I still LOL at the exchange
I’m working on a sci-fi novel based in the 70’s.
MLK was never killed and actually ran for president and won as a populist leftist in 1972.
I have a fantastic summary but would absolutely be banned for it.
just kidding I’m definitely not writing a novel, I promise seriously don’t ask
I read a book once that had disgraced X-POTUS Lincoln wandering around the west being ignored by people as he stood on the corners preaching socialism
oh the CSA won because time travelers gave them AK47s
