Yea, I said that always online and the kinect requirement was a bad idea, but that it wouldn't affect me.

I may not have been as clear with the used game deal, but I obviously understand that these are not good business decisions. They just aren't a big deal to me, personally.

I just started talking about the used game issue on here today, I guess. I remember a friend telling me about it and I said "that's stupid"... but again, I've only been defending the Xbox One by saying none of these things (that everyone is complaining about) will affect me.

I also think your friends being able to take control of your game from another console is a stupid idea... I just will choose not to use it.

The only thing I can hope for at this point is if all the bad press makes them take out the features that everyone agrees on hating.. ie 24hr check in nonsense, used game fees, mandatory kinect to use the console.. etc. Filthy trash. I love my 360 and have gamed on it more than any other console or even PC when I did that.. but this next gen looks like garbage no matter which console you choose.

It was "written down" in the PS3 specs too, wasn't it?

If KI3 is announced as an Xbox One exclusive then forget every bad thing I've ever said about Microsoft systems. Xbox4LYF.

The thing is though, they HAD to know that these things were not going to be well received. A company as large and successful as Microsoft just cannot be that dumb. I seriously doubt they make any changes based on initial fan reaction. I'm willing to bet they knew all along there would be outrage but they're banking on most people "getting over it" and buying anyway. And I'd say there's a very good chance that's what actually happens. Once fanboys see the trailer for Halo 9 or whatever, it's gonna be "Is 'always on' REALLY that big of a deal anyway?"

That said, I do think this is a bad move in that it gives those "on the fence" types reason to go with PS4 instead. But at the end of the day, barring another RRoD type disaster, Xbox will be just fine IMO.

I very much doubt casuals are going to get another console. They're not the type to buy consoles every generation. Heck, I imagine most of them bought a Wii and used it once.

As for the TV crowd, if they don't play games, why would they buy the more expensive product? This mostly goes for us not in the USA where a lot of their TV features aren't, and may never, work for us.

I think it's too late in the development for them to change it.
