Vuvuzela horns. Pretty popular in soccer. After a few matches, you don't really even notice them.

lol - lets see those Neilson ratings

I'm thinking Seinfeld reruns are being gotten and watched more than WC2010.

and ties suck. If someone pays money to travel half way around the world to see their team play 3 games they should see their team win or lose 3 games.

Germans looked exceptional. Best team so far. They would have carved up anyone with that kind of passing. If they are only the 6th rated team, I can't wait to see what the other five will do.

sorry most Americans don't get it. There is a greenway that goes by the soccer fields out in Old Hickory. The only people you see out there playing or watching are folks from other countries or illegal immigrants :moon2:

So your little field in Old Hickory trumps the 16 MLS teams, the 90,000 who showed up to watch the women's fifa finale, the 3 million soccer parents in the U.S., and the 16.9 million American viewers of the world cup in 2006.

MLS averages about 16,000 per game, the near equivalents to the NBA and NHL.

It also outdraws several world soccer leagues:
    •Italy - Serie A………………25,805
    •France - Ligue 1…………….21,392
    •Netherlands – Eredivisise…….16,257
    •US – MLS…………………..16,128
    •Scotland – SPL……………...15,659
    •Brazil – Campeonato…………13,630
    •Potugal - Super Liga………….10,624

There have been 25 matches in the U.S. that drew over 60,000 attendance.

The Americans are getting it. None of this existed even 10 years ago.

7 or 8 soccer fields are considered little?

16.9 million isn't squat compared to the entire population

The numbers will continue to grow as the old people who don't understand soccer continue to die. A much higher percentage of the younger generations grew up playing it and are much more interested. Plus, they understand it and don't ask ridiculous questions about ties and rules.
