Titans LB Wesley Woodyard Named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Wonder who the last linebacker we had that got AFC Defensive player of the week
Colin McCarthy! 2011. Week 13 against Houston.
How does this guy keep getting better? I was ready to upgrade him a couple of seasons ago and all he's done is become a strength of this defense.
I did the math. It was Bulluck in 2009.
Also, Zach brown got it in 2016 ( with Buffalo) and Woodyard in 2012 ( with Denver)
Edit: ahh didn't see Colin
Kind of expected to see this after Deion Sanders gave him that call.
Well deserved. Guy is an absolute pro. What a player. Doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. In fact, he's getting better.
How dope is this:
The Titans made life miserable for Brady in Sunday’s win, and that was the plan, Woodyard said after the game.
“We got pressure early on him,” Woodyard said. “And the thing with Brady is if you get pressure early on him, it can mess with the o-line’s head. He is going to be yapping. … We just wanted to keep him unhappy."
I gotta say that is some next lev game planning. Trying to instigate a divide between Brady and his Oline, knowing that his pompous ass would chastise and demoralise them from within! Are we employing a team of psychotherapists now, because if not, we should!
Yeah I know.. That's why my heart dropped when he got hurt earlier this year.
He's definitely the heartbeat of the defense.
But PFF didn’t grade him as a top 5 player on our defense last week. How is this possible?
