Wonder if the Titans will blitz more or how I hate Jerry Gray.

Maybe Jerry Gray just has impeccable decision making skills on when to blitz ... or more likely he just blitzed when he knew there was a high chance of getting the sack (3rd and long, going against bad Qbs) ... my point is that we should take 'being the best in the NFL' when rushing more than 4 guys with a grain of salt. I mean if we blitzed 11 guys on the 1st play of week one this year, got the sack, and never blitzed again we would be best in the NFL with 1 drop back per sack, but it wouldn't mean much.

That being said, I do think that we need to blitz more. Ayers/Brown have proven to be dangerous rushing the passer. And I think with Greg Williams we will be much more aggressive. I would rather get burned deep every once in awhile from being too aggressive than sit back and get picked apart drive after drive, game after game.

I think bringing in Williams will actually lessen the need for a pass rusher in the eyes of the FO. I think they feel that with Morgan, Wimbley, Brown, Ayers we have a pretty good group of guys that can get to the passer. If we have better coverage down field, that will give those guys more time to get back there and make plays. I mean, what's the point of having a top pass rusher in the draft if opposing QBs can get rid of the ball at the top of their drops? No one will really get a lot of sacks like that.

We already have players who are plenty good at getting to the QB ... we just need to make the QBs hesitate for that extra 0.5 seconds.

To me, our biggest issues on the DL were depth at DE and the ability to stop the run. We brought in a big DT in FA in Hill, and we can get quality depth at DE in the later rounds. Maybe we go with Star if he is there, but if not then I think we go CB (or OL)

Small sample size is probably the reason we're ranked so high in this particular regard

The sample size was 1/4 of the snaps for the season.

In Gregg's defense next year, Brown is going to go off and I wouldn't be all that surprised if he's up there for DPOY. In 14 GS he had 93 comb tackles, 5.5 sacks, 1 FF, 5 P Def, 3 Int, and 2 TD.

I can see him getting 100+, around 8 sacks, a couple int's, and a TD or 2. He will be our next big name.

Go look at the Zach Brown Draft thread from last year. While all you guys were hating I was all over this pick.

I didn't hate the pick, I hold my judgements on all players until I see them on the field. I look at how they fit and can help the team, I wanted OG but was definitely okay with a player like Brown.

That wasn't necessarily directed at you, more at the board in general. I remember most on this board hating on Brown as soon as we picked him, while I was on boards before the draft talking about how good he was going to be.

Oh well yeah just making sure haha I'm trying to stay off the boards during the draft so I don't post my immediate reaction but I think when people cool down a bit after a questionable pick they kinda change their mind on it. I remember last year everyone wanted an OG and I swear it was like we were lighting torches and getting pitchforks online together haha even though just a few minutes later I was fine with most of our picks. Just the way it goes I guess.

but yeah Brown will be a beast for us homer or not
