I see it more like JRob only tries to get the “best value” rather than go after a guy that fills the need but may only be graded for a few picks lower.
For example, ojulari was seen as a low 20’s to 2nd round. Seems like JRob will avoid that for “reach” but he also wouldn’t (wasn’t) there for our next pick.

 

Bingo. The best teams dont draft for need. They take the best player they can. Especially in round 1. Later rounds you do kind of try to fill out the roster. But if the Titans felt that Caleb was a top 15 talent and he fell to pick 22. Plus he also fills a need?

No pass rusher we draft will start over Landry or Dupree. So great we took a pass rusher in round 1 now we have to hear fans complain all season why our first round pick isn’t starting.
