Wimbley should play LB.

Wimbley would be solid OLB (as would Ayers) if we played a 3-4. But in 4-3 alignment he would be horrible and not able to stay with guys in coverage. As far as I know he has never played any of the 4-3 LB spots in his career. Now Ayers and Wimbley do give us the flexibility to rush one and have the other drop in coverage to mix things up but no way Wimbley ever plays Will or any other 4-3 LB spot.

 

Wimbley needs to go thru TC as a LB so he can play DE right fishface?

Griffins rookie season TC was as a CB and IIRC Finnegan spent his rookie TC at safety

Yes. And it could take some heat off of Morgan and maybe help him find a groove.

Just like all over the field, our DE situation could be great... or meh. This is the most uncertain season I can recall as a Titans fan.

Didn't even read your post. Just immediately gave it an "it sucks"

We need somebody to compliment Morgan and we don't have another starter right now at DE. We also have more than capable LB's in McCarthy, Ayers, Witherspoon, Brown, and McGrath.

We've got Ayers, Brown, Witherspoon, McCarthy, and Verner to guard the middle this season. I think we'll be fine at the 2nd level this year.

 

Too easy.

 

Not to mention, Wimbley, if you believe the Raiders fans, sucks against the run, which would make him something of a liability at LB.

Leave Wimbley at end, and groom Brown to be the WLB. That's what we drafted him for.

 

McCarthy is good enough against the run for all three linebackers on the field.

Kind of off topic, but it leads me to believe that if Brown can tackle on atleast a middle school level it won't be a problem. I just hope he can cover a TE.
