Why is everyone giving up on CJ2k?

Yea... I was about to say that we need to set up more screens for CJ; not less.

CJ is the perfect RB for screens when they're designed properly.

 

We have 2 TWOOOOOOOO hall of fame OL coache's and we are dead last in running????

I blame the coaches all of them the RB Oline offensive and head coach.

 

It seemed to me that it really only worked his 2k year and most of the successful plays were dump off and not by design. They seem to tip it off when it is by design.

 

I actually agree with Costa for once. I've said it plenty of times, but it made no sense to not upgrade the interior line in the offseason. If CJ's struggles continue the next couple of weeks (which, let's be honest, they likely will), we will have to start changing up the interior line (whether it's swapping Leroy/Eugene, putting Velasco in, or signing a veteran).

 

He did ok with it his rookie year too, although he did not play as much.

As he ages, he really needs to improve in this part of his game, otherwise he will not have a very long career IMO. Someone his size is not going to last long just running the ball.

 

Actually....gotta give a little love to Costa here...I have agreed with a few of his posts so far this season...including the one you reference here.

 

I think we should be rotating CJ and Harper. CJ is all about finesse, and if he can get away, he'll get a bundle of yards. Harper just hits the line and pushes it (or will, that's the type of RB he is). I don't see why we don't try to play to both strengths to keep opposing DLines on their toes.

 

cj's 2k season shouldnt even be in this conversation because fisher just kept feeding him the ball to get him all them yards...but i would easily take all those backs this year over him...and why should we set up more screens when he has dropped like 5 or so passes already and most of them were simply not trying to catch it or lack of focus...

 

2 years.

 

Admittedly I'm not that great at predictions.. but I think this is the weekend CJ has a great game and gets things on track.
