Where's your evidence of Hawkins being better?

Everything I've seen points to it being the other way around.

Marc Mariani's 444 combined net yards were the most in the NFL during the preseason.

Im not comparing their race.....................Im comparing there ghostly white skin tone. :grrhee: But I also think they have a similar running motion. Very fluid with limited cuts.

Drew Bennett never had arms like that either.

Hawkins is lucky to make this team. His performance this preseason was pathetic especially when playing against 2nd and 3rd team players.

With Britt suffering from head up the rectum syndrome and Hawkins doing nothing we have to be thankful we have Jared Cook and Mariani to fill the gap.

Spot on true. When Mariani was drafted, virtually every pundit and analyst said a collective "WHO???". Nearly all of them hadn't even scouted him for their draft scenarios for anybody.

Fast forward to today. Mariani's stats for the entire league in the preseason speak for themselves. He's not a flashy kid but he consistently gets the job done. On the return, he doesn't bobble the football and makes good decisions about whether to run it out and what lanes to cut. On receiving, he's shown good body control and soft hands that catch the ball and protect it. Britt wishes he had Mariani's confidence right now.

Mariani is beginning to look like one of the bargains of the draft. The question is not whether he makes this team....he proved that weeks ago. The question now is how much action he sees at receiver 'cause we know he's going to be the go-to guy for kick returns right now.

Mariani has showed great hands, Titans should give him plenty of playing time, heck if he can catch the dang ball what does it matter if he is a rookie or not? i'd use him as long as he was making plays.

Not to be Debbie Downer but the Titans thought they were set with a rookie returner last season too. I have a lot more confidence in Mariani (who's had a full training camp over Mouton who was injured for most of his rookie camp) but it's a little spooky to me to have a rookie at punt return.
