This whole thread is about Marmol's stats THIS YEAR. I haven't payed much attention to baseball this year, but I'm pretty sure the post season hasn't happened yet.

There's a difference between signing free agents like everyone (except the Titans) does, and throwing more money at them than other teams can offer. The Cubs traded for Lee and you can tell your argument is weak by citing Ryan Dempster, Ted Lilly, and Milton Bradley as big free agent signings.

I'm not bitter and you keep mentioning the ownership of the Cubs that hasn't even been in place for half a season. I rechecked my numbers and $201 million is definitely a lot more than $134 million.

Except you said you thought Marmol is a better closer than Rivera, I pointed out Marmol hasn't gotten it done in the post season. Hey if you'd rather have Carlos Marmol a guy with limited post season experience who didn't pitch well when he did play be your closer in the playoffs over a guy in Rivera who's done it over and over again, be my guest. Obviously you're just being a homer but whatever, your ignorance doesn't bother me.

If your expecting me to feel bad for my team winning forget it. I see no problem in what NY is doing and if your team did the same you wouldn't mind it. Instead your team spends money on losers and that's why you lose.

OK but it's not 3/4 of the money as you claimed. Yea, NY does have the highest payroll but the Cubs and Mets are #3 and #2 so a high payroll doesn't guarantee you anything. Last I checked your rivals the Cardinals won the world series not too long ago so I don't know what your guys' problem is.
