I knew John and George were dead, but this is news to me. I guess I'll give up hope on that Wings reunion tour.

Paul was dead decades before those guys - at least for those that believe stuff like VY is coming back etc..

Coming back or not, he's better than our options now.

Wish Bud would've stood his ground and made Fish play with Vince. Apparently it wasn't only Vince who had a problem with Fisher.

How many coaches bailed on Fish? How many of Fisher's boys are left in this organization? Reinfeldt and Underwood?

One of those guys will be gone next month. And whether you like it or not, if we don't get any viable QB options after the CBA, the option to keep Vince might still be there.

With all do respect, you are in the VY thread. In your defense though it seems VY is popping up in the other threads too.

The issue is the QB position is the most important position on offense and our options suck. If Orton, Kolb, Palmer were options I'd be dissapointed, but not sick. The thing is though, is that they don't even look like options anymore.

This being the VY thread doesn't limit discussion to only "pro-VY" comments. Since nothing new is being added I'm just saying agree to disagree.
Options will avail themselves as this offseason plays out.

    Not bashing you for disagreeing.

It's offseason, and we know all of the options out there. Besides the new draft class coming in, its all the same players.

Those options are Kolb, Orton, McNabb, Flynn, and Pennington.

3 of those options could not be options. Pennington would be a downgrade AND probably cost a draft pick. If you know of other options please add to the list.

CJ, Pennington is a free agent, and with his injury history can likely be had on a heavy incentive based deal. That is why I am in favor of bringing him in as a back-up with a chance to compete. Even though Kolb is available, and Palmer may be, I still think Flynn is our best option if we decide to go the trade route.

I'm not in favor of bringing in Pennington. I think he'd make our team just average. But the idea of bringing him in as a backup still means we're spending more money and more draft picks to fix our real QB need.

    Say Pennington was brought in...

    Pennington's contract.
Draft picks for Flynn (if the Packers make him available)
A top 3 draft pick for our franchise QB.

Even with all of that, we don't know what we're getting with Flynn. While he might pan out, he might not. If he is only average, then what?

    If Kolb is brought in...

We'd give up a top 3 draft pick.
We'd use a top 3 draft pick for QB.
We still might not have a QB who can put us over the top.

Palmer I simply don't want. But if he's brought in see Kolb scenario.

None of those options make sense. And none of those options are going to make us SB contenders.
