An honest serious question Gloat, not meant to be sarcastic at all.

Who would you pick in the draft?

Well by your analysis we could get him with our 2nd round pick. It's unfortunate every mock draft I've seen has him going in the 1st, luckily I think you're more knowledgeable and we'll be able to get him 2nd round. So who do you think will get 1st rd?

true, but that chemistry produced very average numbers.
uh, scaife hasn't even topped 450 yards in a season with vince(or mcnair, for that matter)

Again I am not lobbying for Sweed. nor am I saying he is the best choice from the draft.

But to say he has done absolutely nothing in college, and he have any attributes to imply he will be a good NFL player is a bit of a stretch.

To be honest I don't know who the best receiver in this class is, nor will I speculate, however from a statistical standpoint Sweed's Jr. Year numbers are in the mix with the rest of the recievers avaliable, except for the total yards, but given the earlier explanation about the offense it's understandable.

Here are the receivers many draft experts (if there is a such thing :) ) have projected as the top prospects.

** Limas Sweeds last full season, his Jr. Year before the injury.
    40 times according to http://www.musiccitymiracles.com/story/2008/1/29/114523/345

If he matched his Jr. year production he would be in 1st place, in Average Yards per catch, and 2nd in TD catches.

I know Stats don't tell the whole story, but just thought these were interesting.

I'd take about 4-5 receivers before Sweed. He's projected 1st round, but mysteriously. There's no real explanation for taking him in round 1. His numbers are terrible compared to the others, he's not fast, doesn't have amazing hands, so it's hard to say why taking him in the 1st would be warranted. He's a more mediocre version of Robert Meachem, but even he had better numbers and was faster.

Bowman, Manningham, Hardy, Jackson, all make more sense in round 1, and Sweed can't hold any of their jock straps.
