There have been talks among fans about what realistic expectations for this years team should look like. After taking the Heisman winning QB from Oregon, fans expectations seem to have gone from 4 or 5 wins to possible playoffs... Thats a drastic change, so whats really obtainable for this years team?

Its usually not a good idea to count your chickens before they hatch, but looking over our schedule I think we're possibly a 7, 8, or 9 win team with a decent shot at a wildcard. The AFC simply isn't as dominate as it used to be and after New England, Indianapolis, and the Ravens really anyone could lay claim to those last three playoffs spots....

Fast forward to January, what do you find acceptable from this team to maintain your interest going forwards?

I think getting to 7-9 would be a huge accomplishment. I think that's what they should have as a realistic goal. Only a 5 game improvement over last year, and there were several games last year we just let slip away. That, plus our schedule is much easier.

I'll try to keep a low expectation with a rookie QB. I say more wins than what we had last year is an improvement.

Without the factory of injuries from last season I think 6-7 wins is reasonable.
I see someone chose 10+ wins, as I would have - when I was 10 years old.

Yes, 6-7 wins. We have overcome the reasons we didn't win 4-5 games last season and that was lots of injuries. 8-9 is too high, 6-7 is about right for a retooled Defense and Offense.

    6-7

I can't expect more or less than that. Expecting less than that is too pessimistic. Expecting more than that is too optimistic.

I obviously wouldn't be surprised if we didn't reach 6 wins though. Would be very surprised if we got to 8 or more.

I see use as a 6-10 or 7-9 type of team. The question is, does the FO keep Whiz if he goes 6-10?...I know he is in contract so probably, but that will be tough if they stay healthy etc...
