If Im Brady I want to stay with the guy and system that got me to GOAT status. Having to acclimate to a new town, and system would not be the thing Id want at the end of my career. At 40+ youre slower and weaker than you were, the hurdles football throws your way are higher. Make life easy and stay put til youre done.

Montana, Rice, Moss, Law, Revis, Manning ... countless guys would like to play their career with the same team, but don't get to.

Its rare for a guy to stay in one place his whole career, you could probably list thousands and thousands of names. But Brady has more say than all those people you named combined.

Supposedly Brady is why Jimmy G was sent away. Most coaches or GM's have the power to tell other players to STFU, but thats not the case in New England.

I dont doubt for a second that if Belichick burns Brady that Brady wont call Miami or Buffalo and demand the job just to get revenge on Bill. Brady is the most competitive man in the sport, he'll play til the wheels fall off. I just think he stays put.

"Brady ran Jimmy G out of town" is overblown. Jimmy G was in the final year of his deal. They either had to pay Jimmy G or ship him ... they made the Patriot's Way decision on him.

Now, Brady finds himself in the same situation. Rather than extending his deal, the Patriots chose to reduce his money ... now, the Patriot's Way decision is looming on him.

The Patriots have never paid him $20m in any single year. Now, after pulling money off his deal and Tom failing to hit ANY incentives, they're going to pay him $27m at 42? Don't think so.

    They mishandled Jimmys situation horribly.

They said he wasnt for sale then sold him 8 weeks later lol

Seems like Brady was behind that one.

Still say purely financial and they don't listen to the noise enough to care to correct everyone. They drafted him in the 2nd round, got 3+ years of service out of him, didn't want to pay him starter money to sit on the bench, so traded him and got a better 2nd round pick than the one they used on him. Smells like Patriot's Way all the way, to me. ;)

Right, except that they had 1st round offers for the guy at one point and said hes not for sale. then moved him at the trade deadline for less.

Not really how theyve operated in the past.

They acted in a panic. I think they know the end of the dynasty is at hand.

Dynasty could be alive and well if they picked the younger QB like every other GM does.

Instead they let Brady's authority get the better of them.

Did you see what Jimmy has done with that mess of a Niners team... Hed be even better if he stayed a Pat.

    Pats finally screwed something up.

I agree, they seem to have themselves handcuffed to Brady for as long as he wants to play. He's practically the owner of the club now.
