Wait till year 2. Again, not saying he's not a great QB, but saying let teams adjust. Doesn't mean he won't be an elite QB, but he might not have the same numbers this season once teams have a whole offseason to study their system

Mahomes threw as many TD's in 1 season as Marcus threw in the past 3 seasons combined. He might have a down year next year, but a down year from what he did last year will still likely be a better year than Marcus' best season.

Sure you can say it's not fair to compare them, but if we have any true desire to win in the AFC, we have to be able to compete with the best in the division, and Mahomes and Luck are the gold standard. Marcus just hasn't compared to them to this point. He's come through in the clutch, sure, but he's never provided consistent offensive production. There are a dozen reasons for that, but at some point you run out of excuses.

If he can't seriously pick it up this year, then it's time to move on.

 

Not gonna disagree with your assessment, just offer some perspective.

Mahomes went into a situation where he already had an effective offensive system, a #1 WR, TE, RB and role players, and he had a year to sit and work on his game. With that said, he's a great QB who's already playing at an elite level and could be an elite QB his entire career.

To put everything on Marcus as if we should win or lose is completely unfair and excludes so many factors.

Marcus beat Brady. So he can't beat Luck or Mahomes? The logic doesn't hold.

Gabbert beat the Texans and Watson but he shouldn't be our franchise QB

 

But at some point, he is what he is. We are in year 5, and we still question “what” he is...If he isn’t your franchise guy by now, he likely won’t be...Let’s also bring to attention that the team has tried to give him support...At some point, when people aren’t elevating around you, you may have something to do with it. There is no question Marcus can be clutch, and he has heart..but his wild inconsistency and health issues have become a serious problem. 11TD’s is poverty...13 TD’s 2 years ago with 2 added targets and bookend tackles is criminal...
