My point is he is much more knowledgeable than your average “talking head.” Just because he didn’t play football doesn’t mean he cant breakdown film of a QB’s mechanics. Reggie Bush played football but that doesn’t mean his opinion holds more weight.

I’ll take his critique over anyone here and probably 95% of any “talking head.”

I think you are misinterpreting what he means by not so informed. His point is that he's making an analysis that many of us have already made and it's the same many other analysts have made. Point being - and what he said - is that he's just another talking head. He gave the same analysis so where's the superior info?

If you consider saying - he's just like every other talking head - bad mouthing, it is what it is. At least he is correct.

The amount of bad mouthing with made up stats/stuff around here is a million times more egregious!

 

Again I just feel like I trust Cosell’s analysis because I know he’s put in the work as opposed to a guy like Merle Hodge just regurgitating info.

I’m having a hard time finding Cosell’s midday interview earlier in the year. He did point out something that I have not heard about Mariota. Said there’s been some timing issues with him because he is not dropping back correctly. Said he’s taking seven step drops when the play is designed for a 3 step quick pass and vice versa. I believe he quoted LaFleur on that but I can’t say that for certain.
