What to do with Mariota past 2019

Oh, so it's not passing yards with you and Lewis, it's rushing yards.
You must be one of those who believes Mariota needs to block more for his running backs.

Well considering Mariota’s best highlights are of him blocking, and running (not passing-His main job) sounds about right. Lol....and Lewis had 1 receiving TD and 1 Rushing...He played all 16. Bravo!

 

Brissett looked great in NE. So did Jimmy G. Just saying...

 

I wanted to break down Mariota's 2018 Season, just so some will see what some posters are trying to do here pointing to Mariota's stats this season.

Week 1 - Miami - Gets injured early on. Fluke of a game. Anybody who watched saw the game flow. Mariota didn't finish the game. 3 Titans injured.

Week 2 - Houston - Gabbert plays and we beat the Texans (let that sink in)

Week 3 - Jacksonville - Mariota plays injured but we find a way to win

Week 4 - Philly - Mariota throws for 300+ and has the game winning TD throw to beat the defending Super Bowl champs

Week 5 - Buffalo - Offense sucks and Lesean McCoy absolutely destroys us. Mariota only throws for 129 yards going 14/26. Somehow he still outplays Josh Allen who went 10/19 for 82 yards and a pick.

Week 6 - Baltimore - Worst offensive game of the season. Players in Mariota's face as soon as he drops. Looked like the Baltimore DC wanted to send us a message. Not a good game for Mariota or the offense and easily our worst game of the season. Almost as bad as the Buffalo game.

Week 7 - LA Chargers - Mariota throws for 237 and what would've been a game winning drive. We lose by 1 point after going for 2 for the win

Week 9 - Dallas - Nuff said

Week 10 - New England - Nuff said. Actually outplayed Brady. Beat the current Super Bowl champs (after beating the former Super Bowl champs)

Week 11 - Indianapolis - Defense is swiss cheese and offense struggles against the blitz. Gabbert finishes the game

Week 12 - Houston - Mariota returns and puts up numbers but our defense can't stop the Texans and we fall. Mariota likely played injured

Week 13 - Jets - Mariota actually leads us back to a victory.

Week 14 - Jacksonville - The Derrick Henry Show. Who needs a QB??

Week 15 - Giants - Mariota plays ball control and we roll a hot Giants team. Mariota only throws for 88 yards but you couldn't tell it. Henry runs wild.

Week 16 - Washington - Mariota injured again

Week 17 - Colts - Gabbert finishes the season





Mariota's issues last season were specific to his injury. Not that he hasn't been injured in the past, but this injury was different. And lingered the whole season, with him even having to wear the hand support.

Those acting like he had a terrible season because he couldn't thrown (lacked arm strength or accuracy) are painting a nice picture... it just doesn't tell the whole story.

Mariota's issue is staying on the field. Not being a guy who can consistently win. He beat the former and current Super Bowl champs as well as nearly beat the Chargers and he's also beaten the Chiefs in playoffs (epic performance) and Saints.

If we can start beating the Steelers and Colts, 2 deadly passing teams, we can start competing for the AFC. The Steelers are imploding and I have a feeling Adoree will adjust to TY Hilton. We're trending up.
