What I hope is happening somewhere today

I also think it'll get done. Mainly because Fisher's still got some say in matters like these. And, his team is built around his defence and a running game.

Because of that Big Al ends up staying.

 

Whether it happens or not, it's going to have a huge impact on the next 3-5 years for this franchise. If we lose Al, we can keep some of our other vets over the next 2-3 years. Keith, KVB, Hope, etc... Also, we can afford to eat some Vince cap after next season IF we choose to do that.

There are a ton of factors in this decision, and I'm glad I don't have to make it. The only thing I'll say as far as a prediction is that if they don't reach an agreement this week, I think he's gone. That holds truer the longer that we go into the playoffs. The closer Al gets to free agency, the more he's going to want to test the waters.

 

Get it done. He's our best player. Makes no sense to me to let him go. It makes no sense whatsoever to let go of your best player.

And it should be two steaks at dinner.
