Even so the titans did nothing wrong. Why take a chance on a $23M cap hit? If mcnair hurts himself working out on his own the titans could then release him and only his prorated SB would have counted against the cap.

    Well...

It's called playing hardball. They didn't like what the Titans wanted to do with his contract and wanted to FORCE the issue into being resolved on their terms (either let him play with a 23mil cap hit or trade him). The Titans thought they had more time to work out a deal contract wise or trade wise...Cook forced it to not only happen, but be VERY embarassing to the Titans!

What the Titans did 'wrong' was getting a deal worked out sooner or get him traded earlier on their terms. Reese allowed agents to mess with our strategy and forced our hand at times. You have to be ahead of them so you don't end up locking you MVP QB out of your facility and looking foolish!

Cook also did it while Fisher and Reese were out of town, so that McNair had to get turned away by training room staff, or something like that. He planned it, and caused the whole issue. I hate Cook, and hope he doesn't rep any of our players again.

Cook screwed McNair when let him sign a deal with a 20 million dollar cap figure.
