Upshaw may feel the heat

    I'm not a big Gene Upshaw fan for the CBA and conduct policy position he navigated. He has been at odds with Ex-NFL players regarding benefit packages. I don't think he is going to last much longer as the NFLPA rep. This is an interesting story about a "threatening" statement he made to a retired player. Not much of a story- but ESPN is running it for some reason. IMO- the fact they are running it is a harbinger for his removal.

    He's gotten more and more critical support. PFT has been running a lot of things on this, it's interesting to hear various complaints. We'll see what it leads to, he's a powerful guy. The threat thing was a terrible thing to say, especially in front of a mike. I can't believe he makes over 4 million a year, replace him with someone cheaper who will actually care about the players, rather than their agents.
