    Steve Breaston, WR, Michigan 6'0", 193, 4.46
Strengths: A homerun threat with the ball in his hands -- as a receiver, return man and on reverses. He shows great vision as a runner and sees creases opening up quickly. Shows very good initial burst and top-end speed. He displays the necessary second-gear to run away from defenders in the open field. Possesses outstanding body control and balance, showing the ability to stop-and-start without losing much in transition. He is elusive in space and will consistently make the first defender miss. He is one of the premier return specialists in this year's class.

Weaknesses: Has had some durability issues in the past. Lingering shoulder injury affected his play in 2005. He lacks ideal bulk and strength. Is lean and gets pushed around as a route runner at times. Will have some trouble getting off the line of scrimmage versus bigger, more physical defensive backs in the NFL. He does not make a lot of plays as a receiver in traffic. Is more dangerous after the catch than he is as a vertical route runner. He is an unpolished receiver who must improve the crispness of his routes. He disappears from games and seems to lack natural instincts and recognition skills as a receiver. He will lose focus and drop "catchable" passes occasionally. He lacks ideal strength as a run blocker and occasionally will fail to sustain even when in position and locked on.

Johnnie Lee Higgins, WR, UTEP 5'11", 186, 4.48
Strengths: Possesses adequate height and a very good combination of quickness and speed. An explosive runner with great quick-twitch athleticism. Is a threat after the catch and as a return specialist. Shows outstanding vision to find creases opening up in front of him. Possesses outstanding initial burst and gets to top-speed in a hurry. Also shows a second-gear in the open field to run away from defenders. Can pluck on the run and does a good job of adjusting to the poorly thrown ball. He isn't afraid to go over the middle and he's also fearless in the return game.

Weaknesses: Is lean and lacks ideal strength. Will have trouble getting off of press coverage in the NFL. Also will get lost in traffic too easily. He gets taken out of his routes on occasion. Lacks ideal polish as an intermediate route runner.

I hope we grab one of these two receivers in a later round and also pick up:

Baraka Atkins, DE, Miami (Fl) 6'4", 271, 4.69
Versatile D-lineman who plays DE, DT, and NT with experience at a high level. He just needs to bulk up some.

he offers nothing as a WR and he goes east/west too much on his returns.

Apparently not if he is scoring and moving the ball.

I would say pass on Breaston because of the injury problems (reminds me of Calico). However, the Atkins guy looks promising.

if he can learn to go north and south more, and if the titans know he has that burst every receiver needs, and if he can catch, then i say get him in later rounds.

I'd want us to take Breaston in the later rounds; I think he is worthy of it for his return skills. IF the kid can be such a field positions monster by running e-w and score on returns, why not let him? If the kid has the talent to do something you can't not let him do his thing.

I will admit he has one weakness. He will dissappear for a few games at a time as a WR, but I would take him, in the later rounds, for his returning abilities alone.

Guys are faster in the pros yes, but I'm not saying lets take him in the first or second. I feel he is worth a one of our draft picks in the later rounds. I know this kid isn't our savior.

He help replace Pac's void in the return game; and be a situtation receiver with speed.

I was reading todays Tennessean, Apr 25, about that Vandy LB. He sounds good as an undrafted free-agent. Could ad a little to our LB corps and sounds promising as a special teamer. Ooooooooooooh, I forgot. Our "Plan" was to sign 3 FA special teamers. But, this guy could fit in to, especially at the price he will come at. Would be great to see this guy come in and beat out one of those 3 FA special teamers.
