Keith, wycheck and allison are all bumble head apologists and keith is a horrible play by play guy. To listen to these guys you would think we were 7-2.

Proof that keith sucks..

The mason winning TD call..

"Mcnair passes to the right, man wide open. It is, you guessed it, derrick mason. Back of the end zone."

Look how much info he gives you before he tells you it is a TD. That's the most important bit of information you need on that play!

Then there is the mathis int in the jags game.

"Interception mathis. He is at the 45, 50, 45, 40, 35, 30, , 25,20, 15, 10, 5 out of bounds at the 2. Vince young shoves him out of bounds there."

In this case he gives you the specifics of the play but doesn't set up what is happeneing. He never tells you that mathis is going a long way with that pass and may score and it is not until the end that he lets you know that vince young was involved in the chase. All dramatic aspects of the play..

Then there is the collins to scaife pass that ended the jets game for us. When i saw the replay it didn't look the way keith announced it.

The deal with wycheck; paycheck! He is kissing bud adam's butt so he can keep the gig. Ryan didn't and he is gone. What other explanation is there?

 

I disagree 100%. Mike Keith is by far the best radio play by play commentator I've ever heard. When you're listening to the radio you need more than just "It's pass for a TD", you need to be able to at least imagine what's going on the field and it doesn't hurt that he makes it dramatic.

And just out of curiousity, how would you have described Mathis INT on the radio?

Never liked Wycheck, Pat Ryan was much better.

What are you talking about? Isn't it his job to tell you what the hell happened on the play? It was the most important play of the game and he didn't tell you it was a TD. Keith was more enamoured with the fact it was mason catching the ball then the result. Come on!

Nobody complains about mike keith because most of those who listen in have the TV on.

You contradicted yourself because in his call on the mathis play he left out any drama. As i said he made no mention that it was a potential TD and it was vince young chasing him down. How about a call like this:

Int mathis, he might take this all the way, vince young has an angle, 30, 25, 20, 15 10 vince has him and down inside the 5!

Do i need to know where the ball was every 5 yards?

I do think keith sets the ball up well before the plays telling you the yard line, formation and players.

You are probably right who cares about a radio braodcast when the team in 7-2. It's just a source of irritation when we suck so bad..
