I was listening to the Dan Patrick Show earlier, and him and Keith Olberman were debating whether or not Brett Favre was still a top ten quarterback. So my question is this: In your opinion, who are the top ten quarterbacks in the league?

    1. Tom Brady
    2. Payton Manning
    3. Carson Palmer
    4. Vince Young
    5. Donovan McNabb (pre-injury- I'll give him the benefit of the doubt)
    6. Mike Vick
    7. Duane Huard
    8. Phillip Rivers
    9. Ben Roethisberger
    10. Steve McNair/ Matt Leinart

OK- that was top ten in 100 seconds. Let the dissection begin.
    5. Ben Roethlisberger

I can't think of 10 I rank ahead of him but it's close.

There's a few ways to take that. I'm going to assume you mean that, given the choice and if I were to start a franchise today, which 10, in order would I pick?

    1. Tom Brady
    2. Peyton Manning
    3. Chris Palmer
    4. Vince Young
    5. Drew Brees
    6. Donavon McNabb
    7. Marc Bulger
    8. Ben Roethlisberger
    9. Tony Romo
    10. David Carr (that's right, David Carr)

A few omissions have to do with age in this case, but mostly ability. All of the players on this list should be at least good players for the next 3 years.

fyi Bret Favre hasn't been a top 10 qb for some time now. Even if my list was about how I thought they would play just next season, Bret wouldn't be in the top 10. Probably not the top 20 actually.

I don't know if I'd rank Pennington, Hasselback, Roethlisberger or Rivers over him but it's close. I think there are clearly six better though.

I'd say Hasselbeck is over him, but I do agree that it's close on Pennington, Roethlisbeger, and Rivers.
