I think one of the biggest misnomers in life is that people perform better when under pressure or in fear of losing their job. I hear this repeated all the time when every shred of scientific evidence we have says that the VAST majority of our race crumbles horribly under pressure. This is the exact opposite of what "conventional wisdom" tells us.There is a reason why players or people in general who are considered clutch are so valued, it's because of their rarity. Not many people can do that.Stress makes cognitive function go haywire and can literally kill you.

The environment under which most humans thrive is one where they are allowed to not be stressed out but is still challenging enough to be productive. Coaching in the NFL is already one of the most stressful jobs on earth, how is adding more stress possibly going to remedy the situation? Think of how many guys are "coaching for their job" every year. When it's all said and done the vast majority end up being fired. If being under pressure was good for performance the numbers would be exactly reversed.

Then fire the coaching staff so we can improve.

Also, Munch had the power and responsibility to CUT Reynaud after the first game. I honestly and a firm believer that we would have at least a couple more wins under our belt if it wasn't for the ridiculous field position we had because of our terrible return game. That Texans game in week 2, how many times did we start inside our own 10 yard line? All on special teams and mainly Reynaud's decision making on fielding a punt/kick.

Overall bad special teams play after Munch brought in his "guy."

So, in return, you don't threaten to add more stress, you just go straight to the most likely outcome: Cut or bench the idiots that make mistakes that cost you wins/leads. Belichek operates the most fundamentally sound organization you could imagine. You either nut up or shut up, there's no time to powder your a$$.

Leon Washington still has gas in his tank. He makes great decisions with the ball and isn't afraid to take a knee. That's all we need in our specialist. I said it before, Leon WILL run one back before the end of the season!

was close enough this past Sunday and why did we just bring him in now? I think he was with the pats but when did they cut him? If they did cut him in early in the season why did we not pick him up earlier?

I could be wrong, but I think they released him shortly before we picked him up because he had been injured for a while.
