Toby Gerhart

What's he like as a pass catcher? Could he be a Mike Sellers type?

 

I actually see him as another Jacob Hester. Bigger of course, but same type of runner.

Doubt he does much at the next level, but could be wrong. Other than Jacobs, we don't see his type anymore in the nfl.

 

Ingram is a true sophomore I do believe.

 

Keep it up guys you will soon run out of white guys to compare him with. Anybody want to compare him to jim taylor or steve van buren while you are at it?

I was confusing the nfl with the NBA for a moment there. The nfl does require a player to be 3 years removed from high school to be elgible for the nfl draft. Too bad for SEC defenses huh..

 

I wouldn't mind grabbing him if he falls to 4th round. Doubt we will considering our other needs, but we could make worse picks. We're gonna lose Lendale and it never hurts to have a bruiser. I like Ringer, but him and CJ are both quick guys. Gerhart can pound it up the middle. Him and Hall in the backfield would be a scary thought for opposing teams in short yardage situations.

 

Like a lot of college players; very good vs weaker opponents in a given system. I would be very shocked if he succeeds in the NFL.

Anyway, I saw that Mel Kiper had Gerhart as the number 2 senior running back behind Spiller. Kiper likes him a lot more than Mcshay. I definitely think he ends up in a 2-back system.

 

4th round? Look for him to be gone by the middle of the second. I could see San Diego taking him early, but players like Gerhart will go much earlier than the 4th.

 

...he's not really comparable to many black athletic players. He...runs like a white guy. Like it or not.
