Young has MCL sprain; Titans agree to terms with Simms

    Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky

The Titans just announced that the MRI of Vince Young's left knee revealed an MCL sprain and Jeff Fisher said on his weekly TV show that Young is out this week. He declined to offer a timetable beyond that.

Fisher also said the team has agreed to terms with Chris Simms and he will be in line to back up Kerry Collins while Young recovers.

Earlier the Titans passed on the chance to give the job to Ingle Martin, as he moved from the Titans practice squad to the 53-man roster of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Titans also looked at Joey Harrington, Quinn Gray and Doug Johnson as well as receivers The team also hosted a number of veteran receivers, including Joe Horn, Chad Jackson, Reche Caldwell, Glenn Martinez, John Broussard and David Kircus.

    Young's MRI results

Fisher on his show just said the results were in on Young's MRI and that he is out for sure this Sunday (no duh) and he would not speculate beyond that. With Simms to be signed tomorrow, I suspect it'll be at least two weeks and probably more.

He did sound like Young refused to go to get it yesterday because of his "emotional state".

So there was no other elaboration on Young's "emotional state?" Anything about getting him counseling or something?

Did not elaborate. He only repeated what we've heard all day from news outlets.

Fisher did say this about not getting his MRI yesterday: "The reason he couldn't get the MRI yesterday is because he "just couldn't make it"."

I would have taken ingle martin over simms. What happens now if collins goes down? 2006 all over again where we have a QB who doesn't even know the playbook?

There is a reason chris simms didn't have a job. Didn't play a down since sept 2006! WTF?
