SUMMARY: With the draft just over a week away, the Titans will continue with their strategy of taking the best player available with pick #30 and #62. "If you have a chance to get a player that's special … it's more important to get a difference maker on your team than to get depth at a position," GM Mike Reinfeldt said. He said a prime example of this was last season when the Titans selected Chris Johnson. "He was a much better, much higher grade than the players we had on the board, at the positions we thought we had needs at," Reinfeldt said. CBs Vontae Davis of Illinois and Darius Butler of Connecticut are the latest mock draft favorites for the Titans to select with the 30th pick. WRs Percy Harvin of Florida and Hakeem Nicks of North Carolina have also been mentioned as possibilities.

I think if we can get another Chris Johnson and Jason Jones in this years draft, then it will be a successful draft. At least in my eyes anyway.

    Heres whats gonna happen:
    Round 1: Titans draft ___A____
People jump on message board all pissed off and WTFing everywhere!
    Round 2: Titans draft ___B____
People jump on message board all pissed off and WTFing everywhere!

Titans Season: A does great and everyone makes signatures with A in it. B steps up in needed moments. Everyone talks about how they knew the draft was a good one.

Oh the irony in your signature. lol.

I don't know if you hated that pick or not though.

I was more skeptical of the Jones pick than I was with the Johnson pick, however.

Lol yes the irony is right, but I didn't hate the johnson pick. Before the draft I saw that we were projected to pick him in the second round actually. I watched this video put together of his highlights at ECU and loved him. However when we took him in the first round I was like WTF. But I was happy we got him. I was not happy with the Jason Jones pick until I heard the reason why and that was his ability to play DE or DT. So I decided I liked him too. I actually posted a Why we had a good draft topic on the TOMB message board right afterwords even pointing out the good in Cary Williams and Stanford Keglar.

That crap might have been true at the TOMB but we're more level headed than that here.

Feel free to flame me for this when I post that the sky is falling after the draft.

Your A. B. example is true for ONE season. And Jason Jones still has a LOT to prove.

What about 2007? Griff is a Probowler and Henry... well, Henry is a solid contributor during preseason games as well as in practice, I'm sure.:grrhee:

Every draft year I was suprised that the titans picked those guys. For example last year when they picked up CJ, I though why the heck will they draft a HB when we have lendale and henry, and now I know. So this year I know whoever Tennesse picks will be a contributor to the team and a steel. Go Titans.!!
