All that proves is Carr played on a crappy team with a crappy defense and was one of the top guys in total returns. His numbers are nothing special at all, he didn't have a single TD in 201 career KRs or a single TD in 77 career punt returns. Chris Henry had 2 KRs longer than 40 yards and he runs with his eyes closed and only had 13 returns. Of all the KRers with over 1000 yards in returns for the year Carr ranked last of the 13 in average.

The Raiders didn't match the offer not because they couldn't afford it but because they want to upgrade their lousy KR and PR stats.

Very good point. Of course, there is no way to know if it is his fault, or if he has bad blockers. The good news is, we don't have to start him if he stinks, and we don't have very much invested in him.

it's still 3x what anyone on the Titans was in on
there little sense in condemning the guy because he played for the Raiders
if Carr was as useless as Sox would have you believe then he wouldn't have returned 59 kicks

    for reference
    in '06 he had 69 returns for 1,762yards for a 25.5 avg
    in '05 he had 73 returns for 1,752 yards for a 24yavg

    and since we're talking averages, a couple guys that had better "averages" had returns for 103yds , 100yds (2), 98yds, 94, 89, 80, 76, 74 ........
that's 9 of the 13 that had long runs that pad that particular stat

the moral to the story is that he didn't cost us much
and he has more experience returning kicks than anyone on our roster

cut the guy some slack until he returns a kick here

:truedat: Well said. We cant go writing players off before they get to play for a better quality team like ours.

I find it hard to believe that carr had worse blocking for the raiders than any return man we had last year. Our blocking was horrible.

It's also lame to suggest that a guy is impaired returning for a bad team since 6 of the top 10 teams in kick returns did not make the post season.

The raiders despite carr's greatness finished 25th in kick return average in 2007..

I'm not knocking the kid but some people want to consider him elite. He is not elite.
