The Titans will be on the field for the first of 10 organized team activities on Wednesday at Baptist Sports Park.

Some changes are in store with the team’s personnel, and the Titans will have to be patient with others in the injury department as the team continues to work in the offseason program.

Here’s look at what to look for in the personnel department:

With big-body additions at defensive tackle in Sammie Hill and Antonio Johnson, and already with Jurrell Casey and Mike Martin at the position, the Titans have good numbers inside at defensive tackle.

So the team plans to give third-year player Karl Klug an opportunity to prove himself this offseason as a defensive end, which should allow him to win more one-on-one matchups on the outside. Klug is up to 280, and expected to be in the 285-pound range in camp.

Also, the Titans plan to give Scott Solomon a long look at strong-side linebacker in OTAs after playing a year ago at defensive end.

With the additions of defensive ends Ropati Pitoitua and Lavar Edwards, the Titans aren’t expected to play Derrick Morgan and Kamerion Wimbley on the field as much at the same time as a year ago. That experimentation will begin to take place in the coming weeks, as the players work with others opposite them in situational packages.

The team plans to work cornerback Alterraun Verner in a number of positions in the secondary as well, inside and outside. Titans coach Mike Munchak said the presence of physical cornerbacks like Jason McCourty, Tommie Campbell and Blidi Wreh-Wilson gives the team more versatility, and a chance to play more physical in man coverage.

New linebacker Moise Fokou is expected to work at inside and outside linebacker.

“On defense you are going to see a lot of mixes, and a lot will be dictated by who we are playing against,’’ Munchak said. “Guys will be moving around a little bit as we find the best way to do things.”

    Injury report

A number of Titans have been slowed early this offseason, and could miss time as OTAs begin:

    • Linebacker Zach Brown, who had shoulder surgery following the 2012 season, is expected to be limited in team drills, but could take part in 7-on-7 drills.
    • Defensive end Derrick Morgan, who had arthroscopic knee surgery, continues to work his way back into action but could be limited as well.
    • Guard Andy Levitre had arthroscopic knee surgery toward the end of the 2012 season in Buffalo, and the Titans are being careful with him in his recovery. He’s expected to be limited as well.
Safety Robert Johnson (Lisfranc) remains out, as does guard Eugene Amano (knee). Tackle David Stewart (leg) isn’t expected to be ready at the start of the OTAs, but is making progress and could work in the latter stages of OTAs, Munchak said. Safety Markelle Martin (groin) is expected to be limited. The Titans plan to watch the reps for linebacker Colin McCarthy (ankle), and defensive tackle Mike Martin has been slowed recently with a sore back.

Quarterback Jake Locker will take part in OTAs from the get-go, and receiver Marc Mariani has made great strides after breaking his leg last August.

“I am sure he feels limited,’’ Munchak said of Mariani, “but he has been amazing. I know he is not feeling 100 percent yet, but he is pushing through it.”

Interesting that we're only gonna have one rush end on the field at a time. Klug at DE, Solomon at SLB, looks like a couple of guys that won't make the roster.

Yea he's physical. Now if only he would stop rubbing Palmers cocoa butter on his hands before games he might make more interceptions.
