Notice anything about those QBs? Most of them are very young. Meaning they suck at recognizing pressure and hold onto the ball for too long.

The problem you have is you generalize everything which leaves out the context. To you every pressure means the qb sucks. Yet there is plenty of video evidence that a lot of pressures come from other things. I acknowledge the point you're making and sometimes Mariota holds the ball too long and sometimes he should feel the pressure and just dump it. But you need to acknowledge that many times young qb's are on OL's that are bad and bad OL leads to a lot of pressure that has little to do with the QB.

Point is, Mariota needs to improve. For us to get the most out of him, he needs more weapons and a better OL. Then it is what it is. If he can't get it done then, we will only be discussing who we are drafting next year and how much JRob is willing to give to go up to #1.

All I see is a list of people who outproduced Mary with way more pressure

DK Metcalf is by far the most overrated WR in this class. He has bust written all over him. Underproductive, injury prone, and literally less agile than Tom Brady was at the combine. If he had never taken that picture with his shirt off, we would not be talking about him.

He could bust but it was that 4.33 40 time at his size that got us talking. I personally think he’ll be good if put in the right system, not sure that’s ours tho . I feel we really could use a veteran WR moreso than a rook ,

He clearly has the tools. The question is, does he have the head, the work ethic, the fire.

Based on his career at ole Miss, you'd have to say it's highly questionable. He should have beasted in college at his size and speed. He did not. Why? What will change at the pro level?

    LOL!

Brady did beat his 2 poor drills. Then again, if used correctly, they won't matter to his game. Metcalf is gonna be doing the Calvin Johnson route tree...vertical routes until people back up...a lot.

Here's a sampling...watch what he does to Kentucky...and before you can say...yeah, but it's Kentucky....he does it to Bama!!!

He's not even remotely comparable to Johnson. Johnson was a different specimen, bigger , more athletic, better football IQ, elite ball skills. Metcalf is a workout warrior ,nothing else. If he can be pressed in the NFL, then he becomes a boat anchor.

He reminds me of Derrick Henry more So than any WR. He's in the freak territory but with obvious flaws. If you allow him to just get by you into the open field or give him a stupid matchup, of course he'll kill you. But they are both sluggish going anywhere else but North. But at least Henry can get help from others to give him space . Metcalf will have to learn to beat bigger, faster, quicker , more skilled CBs And DCs honing in on his weaknesses. That's not a given. If you have a QB like buffalo who can buy all the time in the world and hit the end zone from any part of the field, he makes sense. For a QB who needs to get the ball out quickly and requires precise routes like ours, he makes no sense.

I don't get the fascination. It's a deep class. There are players who are as fast and much quicker, there are big players like Butler and Harry who are still plenty athletic and show better big man skills. There are too many players for a big stiff fast guy to be considered a top 15 pick.

He basically only ran the 9 route in college, and was hurt more often than not, and was the 3rd most productive WR on the team
