Ringer will be out of The League as soon as the difference between the vet minimum and rookie minimum can get another rookie.

Only the really good players get second contracts - well usually. There is always the Donald Nickey Experience that makes the above rule always slightly in doubt

For the record, its very easy to fall asleep during meetings, dozens of players do it. They wake you up so IDK why its a big deal, you can't sleep through those things. If you did you'd have no clue and wouldn't play, he plays so I know they wake him up right away.

I'm really hoping to see Harper step up this year in pre season. Maybe he can win that battle as number 2.

Harper had an awesome preseason and a terrible regular season from his limited action.

    Ringer is a solid #2.

Harper could be our No.2 RB very easily, all he really has to do is stop trying to be flashy and lower his shoulder. The only reason Javon Ringer has a job is because he's a fast learner, he has very little talent. If Harper can't take over to spell C.J., he should just go away.

Fun fact, Antwan Smith now works at a airplane hangar in Houston TX. A good friend of mine works with him, took a picture wearing his Pats SB ring(it's freaking huge).

I asked him if he blew all his football money and my friend just said dude likes to work. Said he'd be bored if he had nothing to do. Said he's a real nice, down to earth guy. Not one you would expect to be a former pro athlete.

Thats pretty cool, working in a hanger, depending on what you do, can pay pretty well anyway. Especially for someone who did not get a several year multi million $ contract.

Lol he's not making top dollar. He works for a freight forwarding company so it involves like loading and unloading of aircraft. If I had to guess, he makes 40k tops.

I'm not sure where the hate for Ringer comes from. He is a great kid, great character and hard working. If we remove all the negatives about a guy like Blount's attitude and such Blount is only a one trick pony. He can't block or catch which is 50% of more of the NFL game for a RB now. Ringer on the other hand has made that one of his best attributes.

Ringer will never be a great RB for sure but he is solid. All our RBs suffered from poor blocking and running scheme last year but before last season Ringer's YPC was stellar. Now with the added attributes of the passing game he is a sold #2 guy a number of teams would covet. His only issue is his reliability. He can't stay healthy and that is a big issue.

As for Harper we hope he can become what Ringer is now. That is why we drafted him in the 4th round. But I don't see Harper there yet. If Harper doesn't develop they might even consider keeping Ringer on a reasonable contract or using another decent draft pick on a RB. Ringer has value since he is a guy who knows his assignments and can do anything asked of him. You might be able to find a guy who is a pure runner that is as good as Ringer but most RBs coming out aren't going to be able to block and catch like he can.
