Titans RB Derrick Henry Angry With “Soft” Performance vs. Jaguars

We need to starve him during the week so the King can feast on Saturday

 

Beginning to think DH is not a starting RB, he is much more Boom vs Bust. MM8 and these receivers would do much better with an RB that gets 4-5 yds a play and can catch/block... then with a lead DH takes over in Q4 when the D is tired.

When DH gets to second level, guys don't want to tackle him, especially when they are tired. Perfect closer.

 

That's cool he admits this. He better have a rebound showing or it means nothing.

It's possible to have a bad game statistically and still be looked at as not soft.

 

It is fine to be angry, but the key is how he responds.

Last week I said that the game was his chance to show me something, which, unfortunately, he really did not do. Luckily for him we have another game here in which he is going to be the feature back, so again, he has his chance to show me something.

Lets see what he has learned, and how he responds. Hopefully his running duplicates his words in this article, but time will tell.

 

His long run last year was 22. And his YPC were higher. He's boom or bust because this entire offense is.

 

I have been thinking this for awhile, but I am also sympathetic to the whole "he has not had a chance to get into a groove" argument. That said, after last week that argument has lost a bit of traction with me as well.

He has another week to show up....lets see what happens. I am willing to reserve my judgment here for a bit longer, but if he has another uneven performance Saturday I really think that RB re-emerges as a need in the offseason.

Add in the fact Marcus isn't allowed to audible out of any play when he wants, these guys have been running into unblocked defenders and bad set ups.

 

that's true, but, as much as I hate to admit it, @Deuce Wayne DW was correct. Henry IS NOT a power back....he's a 6-3, 247 lbs. not as fast CJ. Now, saying that, not many teams exist with just one back, nearly everyone runs at least 2 backs now, so he and his "hit or miss" homerun approach can and has been effective at times.
