    To be fair, a lot of the guys playing now won't be by the 1st game of regular season. It's hard to get a read in pre-season, but it's all we have atm.

    Yeah I know but it's a good sign if your 2nd or 3rd string defensive guys can be competitive and stop the opposition, just means you have depth and the starting guys are even better.

    Nope.

    The clear stuff on the front of the OL helmets is just to protect the helmets from taking damage. Lots of players play during the preseason and it's a hassle for the equipment manager to have to repaint so many helmets. The NFL lets teams put extra protection for the helmets on them in meaningless games.
