PhiSlammaJamma, Im pretty sure the Browns are ahead of us now. We need to win out and them to lose to an AFC team...thats the simplest scenario.

Well, if we go 4-0 and the Browns go 4-0. This is how it will break down.

    Titans 11-5
    Browns 11-5

    1. Head-to-head, not applicable
    2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

    Browns 8-4
    Titans 8-4

    3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.

    Titans 4-1
    Browns 4-1

    4. Strength of victory.

    Titans 57 total wins
    Browns 44 total wins.

If we go 3-1 and the Browns go 3-1, we need them to lose to an AFC Team. But the probability there is very high as they have three AFC games.

IF they, the Browns, lose one AFC game, then we will beat them on Strength of Victory with both Teams tied at 10-6. We would need to beat the Jets of course, or the Browns would have to lose to the Jets, or the Bengals. Again, the probability favors the Titans heavily that the Browns would lose an AFC game (About 75%), and one of them be to the Jets or Bengals (66%) as insurance for us.

Note: The one AFC loss pushes this to common games, and then onto strength of Victory, which the Titans own.

If we go 2-2 and the Browns go 2-2, the Titans would need the Browns to lose 2 AFC Games, which at first sounds unlikely, if not improbable, but if they lost 2 games, again, it is actually high probability that it indeed shakes out that they lost to two AFC teams (60%).

I believe it is the Browns who are up against the wall. The AFC wildcard has practically been handed to us on a silver platter. All the pressure lies with them until they win all three AFC games. And that is hard to do. It really is.

We have no room for error....PERIOD. The NBA's playoff motto from last year applies here....WIN OR GO HOME!

These last four games are our playoff's, if we can't get up for them, then we don't deserve to be there.

Thats the bottom line. For now throw out all the tie breakers and just go out and win. This Sunday is a huge game, next Sunday is a huge game...they are all huge games. If we win out the only game that might not be huge is the game against the Colts where it is possble both teams will have their playoff spots in the bank. I think we are in if we finsih 10-6. Sure there are scenarios where we could be 10-6 and not get in but we can't do anything about them. If we can win 3 of the last 4 I think we are in.

We started our playoffs the day we allowed two below average teams to beat us. One loss and we're done.
