SUMMARY: Though the Titans have a few offensive shortcomings, third down conversions are not one of them. They currently convert 48 percent of its third downs and 68 percent of third downs when it needs 1 to 4 yards. Improving on their 32.7 percent conversion rate of last season was an emphasis of OC Norm Chow this offseason. "I kind of took it to heart … ," Young said. "When those situations come, we fight real hard and get the first down. We've been doing a good job with that. We're doing well to get into those type of third downs so we can get the first down." On the other side of the ball, when its opponents have needed eight yards or more to convert third down, Tennessee has allowed just one conversion on 22 chances.
