Titans G Steve Hutchinson recalls Tom Brady’s true grit

    As college teammates at the University of Michigan, Titans guard Steve Hutchinson saw something special in his quarterback, Tom Brady.

    The two were teammates for four seasons at the school.

    “I knew he was going to be good,’’ Hutchinson said. “He was a tough guy then.”

    On Thursday, Hutchinson recalled a game against Ohio State during the 1999 season, when Brady engineered a game-winning comeback in the fourth quarter.

    “They got up on us pretty quick,’’ Hutchinson said. “And they were blitzing us every play, hitting us in the mouth. I remember (Tom) coming back to the huddle, blood running down his face, and it didn’t even faze him. So you knew he was going to be tough.”

    This kind of reminds me of when we first signed Nate. At the press conference he was wearing a Steeler yellow long sleeve shirt under a black vest. I was like this guy can get his ass right off my team. However today, I consider him a true Titan in the purest sense. Few contributing players have put their body on the line for our Titans like like Nate did last year.

    It isn't like Hutchinson was wearing a Pats jersey with Brady's number or something so he could feel like a winner.

    Brady better be a tough guy or he might just want to let his backup play this weekend. I'm still predicting my 4+ sacks.
