Have any of y'all that always throw coaches under the bus considered that no matter what the coaches "coach", the players still have to actually go on the field and do it?

Good players don't "cover up deficiencies" good players execute.

So many times, even this season, when players or coaches are asked about certain plays... It's always "I did this wrong." Or "this guy didn't do what he was supposed to".

Sometimes things have to go perfectly for things to work and we have a team still making mental mistakes on every play. That doesn't equal success in the NFL.

Sometimes it doesnt fit what the player(s) do best... But it all boils down to the pieces of the puzzle have to fit together or you have a cluster**** like the Titans.

I am tired of all this "player friendly" crap. As bad as we have been for so long, it is long past time to stop worrying about "player friendly" .

Im not all about throwing the coach inder the bus. However, we have a team with some talent that constantly shows up unprepared to win a game and consistantly makes the most untimely mistakes. Those are indications of a poorly coached team, imo.

So true, but then you hire a good coach and all of a sudden all these underperforming players start playing good football.

Coach is the head man, if things are bad, he is the one to point towards. Just the way it is.

So you think Mularkey and Co. Don't drill them about mistakes week after week? They just pat them on the back and say it's ok?

Of course not! But what can they do? Bench a starter for a backup? Most of the back ups on the Titans shouldn't be NFL practice squaders.

Kick and punt defense was always suspect under Lowery. Return was only good when we had good returners back there... primarily DMase and Pacman. Otherwise, it was headshaking.

Kicking and punting didn't take coaching... especially when you consider who we've had in those positions.

Scheming... defensively and returns os where the STs consistently have failed. That's on coaching.

I dont know what they do. What I do know is well coached teams dont consistently make mistakes and their players execute plays. Our team does neither.

Yeah, I understand the finger always gets pointed towards the head man. It's the same as any job. But coaches don't magically make better players in most cases.

The good NFL coaches usually come up through the NFL ranks.
