Titans CB Kevin Johnson Retires

I thought King did well in the scheme last year. Does that mean change of scheme then?

 

Scheme fit is what posters say when they have no clue. When talking about a NB we are going to play man and zone so there is no pigeon hole "scheme" we would use for a NB and sometimes they are manning up on a slot WR or defending a zone area. Probably see a bunch of combo coverages with man on the outside and zone with everyone else. Could easily see us using an outside CB on some WRs in the slot which is something we did with Adoree against the smaller fast guys. Thus scheme is going to be predicated on who is out there and who we are playing.

King was rated as the 40th ranked CB last year but part of that rating was bolstered by his real high run defense score (one of the highest among CBs). In reality he was not a guy with the quicks and speed to man up on anyone with athleticism and might be better fitted to play SS. They had a whole year to evaluate him and dropped him over a couple of mil.
