SUMMARY: The Titans have reached an agreement with first-round pick Chris Johnson. The deal reportedly is for five years and will be worth $12 million. He will be a part of today's practice at 3:30. Johnson should compete for playing time early this season while lining up in the backfield and in the slot position as a receiver. He’s also expected to be in the mix in the return game. As a senior at East Carolina, Johnson led the NCAA with 227.7 all-purpose yards per game (109.5 rushing, 40.6 receiving, 77.6 kickoff returns). He also recorded career highs with 1,423 rushing yards, 17 rushing touchdowns, 528 receiving yards, six touchdown receptions and 1,009 kickoff return yards last year.

If he blows up, he will demand to renegotiate just like every other player.

On a happier note, we all criticize MR a lot for some very questionable moves, but he deserves to be commended (at least a little bit) for getting all our picks signed to (what appear to be) good contracts and in camp (roughly) on time.

Yes we have criticized him for some questionable moves...

Like letting Travis Henry go (Good move)
For not over paying Bennett (Good move)
For not over paying Bobby Wade (Good move)
For not drafting Dwayne Jarrett (Good move)

If Chris Johnson and Griff perform as well as I think they will I hope folks start showing MR some love finally...
