It says he is likely not going to be happy as a backup.

If we signed him, he'll challenge for a starting spot. So either this is meant to keep pressure on Volek, or Volek is done.

Would the Titans go ahead and start shopping Volek? or do they just think they will need more injury depth between Volek and Young... ?

If he can go through progressions quickly, put the ball on the money, I'm happy he's here. We'll see how he likes our O-line.

Billy is a good guy, but he holds on to the ball too long.

    May the best QB win.

SUMMARY: The Tennessee Titans have agreed in principle to terms with veteran QB Kerry Collins if he passes a physical which could happen as early as today. If he is signed, it's unclear what role he will have with the Titans. Collins most recently served as the starting quarterback for the Raiders, but has also played with Carolina, New Orleans, and the New York Giants. In his career, Collins has thrown for 33,637 yards, 173 touchdowns and 166 interceptions.

No way he is ready in two weeks to start. It has to be a backup role though Fisher may open the door for him to get an opportunity down the road.

It looks like Young will be inactive on game days unless someone goes down ahead of him.
