Titans agreed to terms with DL Ropati Pitoitua, formerly of the Chiefs.
Pitoitua visited the Jets before signing in Tennessee. A rotational lineman with experience both on the inside and outside, Pitoitua will likely help man the middle for a Titans team that wants to get bigger up front. A mammoth 6-foot-8, 315 pounds, Pitoitua played 505 snaps for the Chiefs last season, tallying 51 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.

    Our DL is shaping up...

    LDE: Wimbley - Solomon
    NT: Hill - Pitoitua
DT: Casey - Martin - Klug
    RDE: Morgan - Ayers (dime/nickle) - Dawson

Now, we just need to pickup a true 3rd DE in Rds 1-3.

Just checked his stats. He's been steadily improving over his years in the league. He's consistently getting better.

The Titans have agreed to terms with defensive end Ropati Pitoitua, who visited the team last week.

The former Chief fits what the Titans were looking for at the position — he’s a 6-foot-8, 315-pounder capable of playing at multiple slots on the line.

Pitoitua played in 15 games last season with the Chiefs, 10 starts. He finished 2012 with 51 tackles, and two sacks. He played two seasons with the Jets before joining the Chiefs. Pitoitua also visited the Jets last week.

“Ropati gives us the big body we were looking for at the defensive end position. He has played a number of games and been productive,” Titans General Manager Ruston Webster said. “He should be an asset for us in the run game at end and also could give us flexibility on game days with the ability to kick inside for some snaps.”

Pitoitua becomes the 10th free agent to reach a deal with the team this offseason.

A four-year veteran, Pitoitua has played in 37 games during his career. He led all Chiefs defensive linemen in tackles with 32 in 2012. He spent his first three seasons with the Jets, playing in 22 games. He originally joined the Jets as an undrafted free agent in 2009 from Washington State, where he played in 36 games.

Led the D-lineman in tackles and he only started 10 games? Sounds pretty impressive.

His stats are actually pretty impressive. And geez, is that a BIG DUDE! I LOVE his size. He's going to help this team a ton. Another good signing Webster!
