Not sure if you were trying to prove my point or not, but thanks.

Our d is not the problem. Secondary could certainly be better. But we are an 11-12 win team if our offense is consistently average.

Not sure what you are getting at with the seattle stats.

Gurley has over 200 yards on the season and is likely the mvp of the league. He is really good. However, he would not have been on the field as much if our o could move the ball. Despite his monster game, we still win if our O could score from the 1 flippin inch line.

The defense wasn't meant to be the team's strength. The offense was. The defense performed poorly enough in only 2 of the matchups for them to be claimed unwinnable, and the 4 INTs from the offense didn't help. The claim that the defense is good is relative to the expectations that they would be a liability, while that has hardly been the case.

2 of those 3 games the Rams lost. Key to beating the Rams, stop Gurley (which can be done). Our top notch defense almost didn't make an effort to stop him. Or at least the worst effort, based on his production, of the year.

I get that, however, if our offense had performed yesterday we win. They didnt, and we didnt. Not sure why everyone is so insistent on putting everything on the d.

The fact is our d has played well enough for us to be an 11 win team. We can find stats to back up any picture we want to paint. The only games that the d has been bad in is Houston and Pitt.

I put everything on the coaches and the fact that the D really hasn't been addressed.
I said on another post that I'm not sure the mix of D problems between players and scheme.

The coaching is why I think the highly addressed offense is so weak this year. Personnel isn't really the issue barring interior OL. The D has a bunch of "eh" and unknown players. I have patience with young guys, don't for vets that suck (McCain, cyprien).
The D still needs to be the focus point this offseason outside of getting rid of coaches.

I think the coaching is the problem too, but how can you say the d hasnt been addressed? Our D line is solid, LB are pretty good. Secondary has been the weak link but they brought in Ryan, drafted Byard (who has been pretty good) and Jackson who has been pretty good. Ryan hasnt been as expected, but the younger guys have been okay when you consider experience level.

I'm pleased with ryan and byard. Brown has been a surprise and woodyard has outplayed my expectations based off of last year. Casey is good on the line and we have a few rotational guys. I think we need to upgrade in assuming rush and another coverage guy. TE still burn us and too many missed tackles. Personnel or coaching again?
I still think there isn't a lot of room for improvement but coaching is the bigger issue no matter who we get.

Zero plays made against a third string QB. The best thing you can say about the performance was the defense didn't lose the game, but they sure as hell didn't win it either.

We have no blue chip players on defense. Some solid guys like Orakpo, Byard, and Ryan. No one capable of wrecking a game or creating big plays.

I could be wrong but I believe Sims is our only corner with an interception this year. This team just struggles forcing turnovers. The front 7 has had a strong season but the secondary continues to let them down. We need an upgrade at SS and corner
