I'm thinking many of you will get the aggressive defense under Cecil you wanted with Schwartz because the scheme may have to change heading into next season.

Any early thoughts on some of the challenges Cecil will face next season?

Not sure, but I think we're headed for a faster/head hunting defense rather than the stronger/hold your ground defense we've had under Schwartz.

Personally, that's what I'd want. A D like pittsburgh's or...uh...the...those guys in the purple. Aggressive.

Getting pressure with 4. The concept is very sound, if the players can execute it. When Shwartz didn't have the players up front, the D sucked....and I think we blitzed more back then (say 2005-2006).

No player will replace Al's ability, but with a solid D line rotation (1 more good DT) and more clever blitzing (which I think we have some personnel to do it with), I think the D can remain very good.

Many teams (4-3 and 3-4, which we could show some 3-4 looks) get pressure in more creative ways than our basic rush. I bet Cecil has a more aggressive approach. Sure our secondary may get torched more, but they'll get torched if the QB has all day to throw.

I think this next season, we'll see more turnovers, a few more big plays given up, a much more aggressive Defense and a solid run stuffer.

Basically, more blitz, more turnovers, more big TDs........MORE FUN!!

    No more Chief Red Hat:)

I'm not going to lie, i'm concerned with us stopping the run. We have the staff, but I hope that Cecil can adjust to this tremendous loss of Haynesworth. We need more bodies inside to stop the run and to get to the QB. Who knows? We'll see. I have faith in Cecil.

I have a feeling we will be fine. Cecil will be a good DC. From what I get of his fast, hard-hitting mentality, that he will tune the D to a faster, more aggressive mindset. But he also seems like the type that knows how to execute a defense like that as good as JS did with last years more basic, 'front 4 pass rush' scheme.
But then again who knows? Cecil may run the defense very similarly to what Schwarz did.

I would love for us to pick up a mean hard hitting LB with the temper of Finny.

Guys linebacker sized with a fiery mentality like Finnegan are all in prison already.
