Ice skating and gymnastics take actual athletic skill

Yeah... still require judgement. I don't really consider anything a sport that is judged by someone else.

      pastime

well... I will say that IMO man.... a sport has a winner that does not involve purely judging.

So bike riding has a clock and the winner is the guy/gal with the best time = sport

soccer has a scoreboard = sport

lowest score wins in golf = sport

auto racing has a finish line = sport ( granted some would argue )

wrasslin' has a 'winner' but nobody keeps up with the Ws & Ls and we all know its scripted = not a sport just a show

bodybuilding has, to my knowledge, no skills test or anything just judges = not sport just a show

At least in :bs: like figure skating there are skill tests ( last I knew anyways ) that count in their 100% judge only :bs: finals.

    my opinion.

Gray area... a win should be cut & dry. Knockout, pin, tapout... I personally hate judgements to determine outcome.

fight sports that have to go to the judges is the worst outcome for the fans.

at least a good chunk of them do not need the judges to determine the winners

I say there is a difference between a sport and a competitive activity.

Personally consider videogaming competitive but not a sport.

Yup, why I consider it a gray area.

I'm sorry... but it should go until one of the boxers, wrestlers, MMA fighters literally wins, beats the competition.
