interesting tactic to show up for voluntary workouts and skip mandatory...
Not worried til hes missing training camp
standard protocol for guys like Lewan who have outplayed their rookie deals
He deserves the raise and he won't be the only one holding out across the league.
indeed, there are already several guys "holding out" from these last 3 practices before the dog days of summer kick in.
Davis Johnson, Earl Thomas, Leveon Bell, Lewan, Aaron Donald... Pretty standard stuff for these kinds of guys.
We should put a clause is the contract that he loses X amount of dollars from that game's check for every personal foul that he gets called for.
he stands to lose $84,435 if hes not there for the 3 day mini camp
then another $40,000/day when training camp opens
Since the team is already in talks, I think it's safe to assume both parties would like to get a deal done before start of the season.
I think this is just Lewan's reps attempting to get things moving a little faster or give it some attention. Basically, they're doing their job.
If this were to go into training camp beyond a week or two, then there's reason for concern but I don't see that happening. Lewan is as much a face of the franchise locally as Mariota.
He's gonna get paaaaaaaaid.
rather him do it now, because next year the LT salary will probably go up x1.5
Pay the man - don’t care if he becomes the highest paid tackle. Want him to be a Titan 4 life
Let him sit out. Our line will be fine without him and Conklin.
